the last few pages...2008

364 days behind me, 365 un-lived days of promise ahead...

Here's a list of some of my favorite and most memorable moments of 2008~

Began the year with a 10 day trip with the Hubby to Marvelous Maui (Happy Birthday Honey!)

Stage plays in the city ~ Jersey Boys, Dirty Dancing ~ had the time of my life:)

Meditation with a Buddhist Monk in celebration of the Spring Equinox and Easter Sunday (this opened my heart and soul in a way I never imagined possible.

Got to see my FAVORITE performers patchouli twice this year. Check them out at patchouli.net They have a WONDERFUL holiday CD - Terra Guitarra - Santa brought it for me this year!

Nick's prom date ~ classic mother/son time

a fun weekend in Lake Geneva with my sis and girlfriends

My late spring stay-cation. Hubby was in Canada, son away at school, me at home in complete bliss.

Traveled up to Ashland, Wisconsin with sister-of-my-heart, Nans to participate in the Ashland Relay for Life in honor of Nan's sister Julie. I'll never forget that experience and can't wait to do it again next June.

Our annual pilgrimage to Big Crooked Lake in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin. My Heaven.

The best night of the year - Vittorio Grigolo sings a tribute concert in honor of Luciano Pavarotti. A perfect night at Mil Park in the city.

Arranging for a "real cowboy horse" Laredo to surprise my little cowboy, Tyler on his 4th birthday.

Annual Fall Camp Out at Bong Recreational Area in Wisconsin. Perfect weather, perfect company.

Spending a GLORIOUS Halloween with my Grand-Beans - Tyler's school party, trick or treating...fun!

Election Day - enough said.

As Ivy Baker Priest was quoted saying, "The world is round and the place which may seem like the end may also be only the beginning." Life...wow. Isn't it a blast?

Happy, Happy New Year

A Chapter on Purr-fect Love

Some of the best men in my life have been cats.
I'm sure if you've had that one of a kind cat in your life,
you can relate.
Here's my guy-cat and blogging partner, Figaro.
Just as I was stoking up the old laptop to mess with my blog,
he hopped up and plopped right down to add his two cents.
An old French proverb states
"Books and cats and fair-haired little girls make the best furnishings for a room."
Guess Fig and I are sitting quite right in my cozy little room this winter's night.
Sweet dreams!

Days...today my first spent creating a "blog."
Funny...an online journal, so to speak.
Figaro (my guy-cat who you'll meet in future posts) is sitting here watching me post.
He seems pretty interested in what I'm doing as he's getting his paw in the keyboarding action. Guess he wants to be a PAWrt of the fun in creating something new.
Today has been a PURRfect day...did a little post holiday clean up.
But most of the day I undulged...
Twilight by Stefenie Meyer,
a long afternoon snooze with Figaro,
not having to get in the car
and GO
anywhere.
YAY!
